Clear blue digital says not pregnant- other tests positive?
My period is 7 days late and Im TTC no.2. I've done 2 clearblue digital tests which say not pregnant (on the first day late and today) and done several other tests which are positive. The line is fainter than the control line but not hard to see. I'm going to doctor for blood test tomorrow! I was wondering if anyone has had similar experiences with clearblue and been pregnant. My last pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 11 weeks so nervous! Thank u!
Hi Anon21,
the recommended time to take a pregnancy test is 14 days after ovulation or essentially 14 days after the eggs had been fertilised. This is because different brand of pregnancy test kit have different sensitivity. Pregnancy test kit detects hCG hormone (the hormone created very early in pregnancy), so those kit which are more sensitive may detect it just a couple of days after conception. But in general, 14 days after conception, the level of hCG in a pregnant woman will be sufficient to be detected even by the less sensitive pregnancy kit.
In your case, Clear blue may have been less sensitive and so it is registering a negative even though several other tests that you have done is already registering a positive.
A blood test will be more accurate than the urine test any time.
