Lightweight Tripod - Pros and Cons

Sony has some good tripods that fit the light weight category. One of them is Model No. VCT-R640. The tripod comes in a black finish, is adjustable in height, and enables you to quickly remove your camera and also easily change camera angles. It retails for about $24.95.
The Sony VCT-R100 is another adjustable tripod that can expand up to 39 inches in height and then can fold up to a mere 14 inches for easy storage. It has tilt correction and an adjustable three way Panhead. A carrying case is included with the purchase of this tripod, and it retails for approximately $35.00.
A Vista Explorer 60 Inch Tripod is perfect for cameras up to 4 pounds in weight. It also has a three way Panhead and is very easy to set up. The price is about $30.00. The tripod comes with a bag.
If you do not mind spending a bit more money, the Gitzo Mountaineer GT150 tripod retails for approximately $499.99. It is strong, sturdy, flexible and light weight. If you invest in a tripod such as this one, you will probably not need to purchase another tripod, as the Gitzo should meet all of your needs. It is made for those who travel a good deal and want a tripod they can rely on for good performance.

What's The Best Price You Can Find For A Sony VCT-80AV Camcorder Stand, (Including Delivery), Within The UK?
As it says, I'm looking for the best price for a Sony VCT-80AV, (including delivery), within the UK, preferably either a shop local to Southend, Essex, or on the web.
The best I've found so far is around £95, so please only list places/sites that list it for sub-£100.

Also, the documentation for "accessories" with my Sony HandyCam HDR-SR12E stated that the Sony VCT-80AV Camcorder Stand is fully compatable, if this can be confirmed/denied, I'd be most grateful.

Personally, I would rather have the flexibility if using a LANC-type control with any steadying device - and not be locked into using a single tripod.
While it is too bad the SR12 does not use a standard 2.5mm connector, the RM-AV2 will allow the same controls (power, zoom, photo) and can be mounted to other devices - including a any tripod handle (as built-in to the VCT-80AV), SpiderBrace (or other similar shoulder-mount device), GlideCam Stunt Bar (or similar device) or any other mounting method or reason that could take advantage of a LANC-type device... like mounting the camera to a helmet or automobile.
And yes, if you click on the "compatibility" tab, the SR12 is listed by Sony as being compatible with the VCT-80AV. Verify this by checking with the SR12's Operating Guide, locating the wired remote/LANC port and understanding, by looking at it, that it is either 5-pin mini-DIN or 1.8mm TRS. They are very obviously, visually, different.
