Canon launches new HF10 dual flash camcorder
Canon expands its award-winning High Definition (HD) camcorder range with the announcement of a groundbreaking flash memory-based model. Flash Memory allows the Canon HF10 to offer a range of benefits compared to camcorders based on other media: like Hard Disk Drives (HDD), provides extended recording times; is more compact than DVD camcorders; and it provides superb image quality. Its 12x optical zoom lens, Canon's True Full HD CMOS Sensor 1920 x 1080 and Canon's advanced DIGIC DVII image processor ensures meticulous detail and superior color reproduction.
Featuring the acclaimed Canon HD Camera System, the Canon HF10 model is also the first HD camcorder from Canon to record at 1920x1080 Full HD video resolutions. More power-efficient, robust, and significantly smaller, the Canon HF10 weighs in at approximately 380g. The HF10 camcorder records directly to standard SD or SDHC memory cards, and also offers an impressive additional 16GB of internal memory as standard.
Dual Flash recording and Full HD recording
The new Canon HF10 gives users the flexibility to record to either removable memory cards or 16GB of internal flash memory. With space to store over 6 hours of high quality HD footage, the Canon HF10 allows filming to continue even without a memory card. Canon HF10 require less power and offer faster start up times. Canon DIGIC DV II and advanced digital photography

DIGIC DV II optimizes recorded colors, ensuring that they appear as vibrant and bright as they do in real life. Zoom lens for a Canon Rebel XT SLR Camera?
I need advise on what type of lens to purchase. I have a Canon Rebel XT camera. I want a lens that I can use to zoom in closer to the subject of the photo. As I have been searching, I see that there are telephoto, telephoto zoom, etc. I have no idea what to buy. I am not a professional photographer and can't afford to spend $500 on a lens. What would be best for the average amature?
First the Definitions (simplistic, not technical):
Telephoto - Single Focal Length Lens that can shoot at far distances 300mm 400mm etc. Whatever you see is what you can get, there is no "Zooming" or widening of the frame.
Telephoto Zoom - Lenses that can shoot at a range of distances within a single lens, so you can have a (fairly) wide angle and zoom in to subjects further away. They are typically not as sharp as Telephotos, but they are more versitile and generally cheaper.
What would probably suit you best would be a Telephoto Zoom lens such as the Tamrom 28 - 200 mm. lens. It is a single lens that will allow you to take regular shots but also the ability to zoom in on subjects at a distance. It runs about $285, but will cover most of your basic needs without needing to buy several different lenses or needing to swap lenses quite so often.
